Amy Hurley Purdie
Hi, I am Amy Hurley Purdie! I am happily married and the proud mother of 4 boys, 5 bonus daughters, 3 bonus sons-in-law, 1 daughter in law and lots of grandkids! I live in Oregon, and divide my time between my family, designing, church, and friends. I am a self-described "Scrapbook/ stamp/craft Fanatic"! I eat, sleep, and breathe it! I have been in the crafting industry as an artist and designer for the last 20 years and have had the privilege of working with some of the most amazing companies and people in the industry. I love the special connection that's made between crafters, and sharing art with my crafty peeps has been such a great joy. I was the previous owner of Witt & Sass Stamp Company and that's how I made a connection with the lovely and talented Beth Duff! I met Teresa at her scrapbook store I am so excited to be started this creative journey with her and Beth, and I look forward to creating new friends through the sharing of my art, and talents!
Hi! My name is Beth Duff. I'm married to a great guy and we are a blended family of 5 kids, and 2 boxers. I currently live in Georgia and am a full-time student. I also do some freelance graphic design. In my free time, I love to binge TV, play video and board games, craft, and go to my husband's shows (he's in a band!). I got dragged into crafting kicking and screaming and then realized that I not only super enjoy it, but I love the community and the uplifting experience I've had since day one. I've made some of the best friends of my life in the crafting world and I would never look back. My only regret is giving up art because I thought I wasn't good enough and wasting so much time that I could have had with the friends I've met. I love all kinds of art from paint pouring to coloring, mixed media to alcohol inks. I have to be careful because if I see it and try it, I'll probably love it! One of the things I fell in love with while finding my way was a company called Witt and Sass and the owner, Amy Hurley Purdie. When she had to close her doors, I knew I wanted to bring her back in any way possible. When the opportunity arose to open Sassy and Crafty, Amy was the only person I wanted to work with. I can't believe she said yes and now we're on this awesome journey together and now with Teresa on board our adventure will be incredible!
Teresa has lived her entire life in the same part of the Pacific Northwest, and she is married with two adult boys. Although she has traditionally been a dog family, she currently has one cat as well as eight backyard chickens. She loves spending her time decorating, time with family, board games, entertaining, and gardening. She also loves traveling by RV, seeing movies, and wine tasting. She’s been in to paper crafting since 1989, and at one point owned a brick and mortar scrapbook store in her hometown of Tigard for five years. Her cardmaking style can be described as Clean, Classic, and Creative. We are so excited about the different style she will be bringing to the company and we know you will totally love her!
Why the Zebra and why the Unicorn?
I am the zebra half of this creative team. Why the zebra? The Zebra represents me because the Zebra is the mascot of those living with rare disorders. Medical students have been taught for decades that, “When you hear hoofbeats think horse, not zebra.” In other words, look for the more common and usual, not the surprising or rare diagnosis. I live with Ehlers Danlos Syndrom, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and Dysautonomia. I embrace these disorders and the different challenges they bring to my life and recognize that while they may difficult they also give me wonderful opportunities that I might not have otherwise had!
