Wicked Good Friends
Hello, crafty friends! Its Marie here from Marie Nicole Designs. I am so excited to be guest designing with Sassy and Crafty! Today, I am working with the new stamp set, WICKED GOOD FRIENDS. This set has some adorable images that inspired me to make a few Halloween themed cards.
For my first card, I stamped and colored my images with my alcohol markers. Then, I fussy cut the images out. I usually like to fussy cut and pop up my images on foam adhesive, but these would be fun to mask off and build a scene with, as well.
For the background of my card, I did some ink blending using the Distress Oxides. The colors I used were Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn. Perfect greens and yellows to compliment our little character! I started by inking on some of the yellow, then, adding green in around the edges. Then, I grabbed my gears stencil and inked over that with some more Mowed Lawn, just in the corners. I
wanted some of the design to be peeking in from the sides. I then inked over my stenciled area again with Mustard Seed. I also used a cloud stencil with my Mustard Seed to add some fluffy yellow clouds in the background. I think it makes it look a bit eerie! After my inking was all finished, I splattered some
gold speckled on with my Midas Touch Sparkle Brush Pen from Nuvo.
Next, I used a birch tree die that I had in my stash and cut out some trees from black cardstock. I layered this over my inked background to make it look like a spooky forest background. I then stamped the sentiment and popped up my character over it! Too cute. I just love how this one turned out!
I then wanted to make another card in a similar style, but show how you can change up the look a bit. I colored and cut out our character again, along with the little flying monkey. He is too cute!
I then did some ink blending again on the background using the same two colors- Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn. I masked off the circle area, added the Mustard Seed, and then added the green clouds using the Mowed Lawn and my cloud stencil. Then, after removing the mask, I was left with a cloudy
inked circle on my card front. I then added the sentiment using some letter dies, and stamped the sentiments from the stamp set around it using black ink. My little characters are then added to the card front using some more foam
adhesive. I mounted my card front onto my purple card base that I also ink blended some purple stripes onto. It’s a little hard to see in photos, but I love the subtle stripes peeking out from the card front.
So that’s it for today’s cards! I hope you enjoyed a look at the WICKED GOOD FRIENDS stamp set. Thanks
for stopping by!
Until next time,
