Taco Tuesday!

Posted by Amy Hurley-Purdie on

The next 2 weeks are going to be filled with samples featuring our new release for May! Today is Taco Tuesday! I made a card showing off this cutie taco from our latest 4x6 set Taco about it!

I used some adorable taco paper from Doodlebug, and I had to throw in some handmade shredded paper lettuce! I cut thin stripes of green striped paper and crumbled them up to make the lettuce.
I colored him using Copic markers.
Shell - Y21, E33, YR24, Y28, PC1028
Tomato - R02, R22, R35, R46
Lettuce - YG03, G17, G05
Cheese - YR21, Y38, YR15, PC1033

I always struggle with decorating the inside of my cards so I thought it would be nice to challenge myself and feature the inside of my card. I used Spring Friends "Have a Happy Day" sentiment and I also stamped my taco in pale grey ink.

I love how just stamping the outline of the taco lightly really ties everything together. I hope you create your own spicy card featuring this adorable taco.

But wait  . . .
I thought since it is Taco Tuesday that I would leave you with one of my all-time favorite taco recipes. I love the combination of flavors in these taco's and they are really easy to put together. Also, I have never made a recipe from the Closet Cooking website that wasn't delicious so I highly recommend taking a look around the website while you are there!
