Stay Weird

Posted by Amy Hurley-Purdie on

This weeks latest sneak peek has us looking out our latest stamp Girl Power and one of my FAVORITE sentiments on the set is "Hey . . . Stay Weird"! I absolutely love it because as a fellow weirdo I am always happy to send cards that give permission for people to embrace their inner weirdo! I love that you can customize these cute little girls to look very pastel and sweet, bright, and vibrant with primary colors or funky with weird color combinations. The possibilities are endless!
For my card today I thought I would create a fun shaker card filled to the brim with lots of bits and bobbles and feature one of the cutest little girls in the set! I just love her braids, glasses, and headphones.
I colored her using Copics in these colors:
Skin- E00, E01, E11, E04
Hair- G00, BG23, BG49
Glasses- C2, C3, C5
Headphones- RV02, RV06, RV09
pants- FV2, B79
I also decided to customize her outfit by stamping her dress onto black and white striped paper. I inked up my stamp and carefully wiped off the flower on her dress so that when I stamped there was no flower image left behind on the new dress. I then cut it out and glued it on top of her original outfit.
For my bits and bobbles, I used some clear diamonds, silver star sequins, clear iridescent hearts, and pink and purple micro rhinestones. I could not find any embellishment that matched that beautiful blue-green color so I inked both sides of a piece of white cardstock with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink & Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I used a dies cut I had to cut out the tiny hearts to make the custom confetti.
I can't wait to see what kind of girl power cards you make with this set!
