Hello Everyone! Justin here, and today I am sharing an adorable project I made using the delicious new S'more Fun 4" x 8" stamp set! I just think this set is just the cutest, and it's so perfect for any time of the year! All the little s'more characters have a kawaii look and feel to them, and just are a dream to color up!
For this project, I colored up the Marshmallow pair, the individual s'more, and the campfire using my Copic markers. I've been seeing a lot of people lately asking how to color up whites, such as the marshmallow pieces in this card. My tip is always to use light shades of gray markers. For example, in this project, the marshmallows use W2, W0, and W00 to get some nice shading, while still retaining their white appearance! I always suggest that people take some time to play around with the gray markers they own to figure out all of the ways that they can be stretched!
I wanted my card to actually look like a s'more, so I die cut an A2-sized piece of kraft cardstock, a slightly smaller scalloped rectangle die cut from brown polka dot patterned paper, and then die cut an even slightly smaller rectangle with wonky stitched edging from campfire patterned paper. This way, each sized paper would nest nicely inside the next largest size.
For the sentiment, I used the buildable "Life is" "S'more Fun" "With You", stamped it in black ink on white paper, and lightly distressed the edges using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. For a little extra detail, I then took some scrap kraft cardstock, placed the Mermaid Tails stencil overtop, and evenly blended a layer of Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I used the Mermaid Tails paper to then frame each sentiment bit.
Using foam tape, I adhered all 6 pieces to my card, and finished off with some brown and gold sequins! I adhered my panel to an A2-sized card base and was finished!
