It All Started with a Kiss
I thought this gal was perfectly sassy and I had to color her right away. I felt like I needed to use green.....I was just in that mood. I chose a color very similar to a shade of green lipstick that I actually have (and wear!). I also used the greens in her hair. She was colored with Copics, and I think she's got a very cool style.
Most of the time, I color my images first, and worry about my backgrounds later. In this case, I rifled through a bunch of backgrounds I made some time ago, and came across this one. I rolled out Fresh Greens Kaleidacolor Inks from Imagine across watercolor paper. I like how it picked up the texture of the watercolor paper, and since this is a dye based ink, it's translucent, so you can get some beautiful layers of color. To tie the background in a bit more with my Sassy Girl, I stamped one of the "kisses" from the stamp set all over with Twilight VersaFine Clair ink, and then I heat embossed it with clear powder. They give the background a fantastic shine. My sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and then I painted on a green Nuvo Mica Mist for some shimmer. I used two of the blue Copics I used on her dress to add color to my card base. Nothing fancy, I just didn't want it to be plain white.
I love this card and this Sassy Girl. I know she can be used for a lot of things. I can totally see her being perfect for belated birthday cards, for example. I think her hand is in a great position to be holding something too. Make sure you visit the Sassy & Crafty Shop to see all of the latest release. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
