I Love You-Calyptus Card
Hey Everyone! Justin from the Sassy Crew here, and I am super excited to be sharing this super fun card that I made using the new Koala-ty Time set!
A few weeks ago, I had a friend come over who used to be really into scrapbooking, but has drifted from the hobby since... which meant she needed to unload a bunch of scrapbook paper! Of course I was more than happy to take it off her hands, and I found a pattern that I thought would just be super cute with the Koala-ty Time set!
To make this card, I colored up the koala holding a heart and colored them up with Copic Markers. I also added some gel pen accents on their inner ear to make it look fuzzy. I fussy cut out the koala and set them aside.
Using a piece of gray patterned scrapbook paper, I trimmed it down to a 4.125" x 5.375" panel and placed the Party Time Stencil over it. I blended over the panel entirely with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink. I then took the panel and adhered it to an A2-sized piece of red cardstock to give it a little frame.
Next, I die cut 3 hearts of different sizes and circle from white cardstock, and distressed the edges using Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink. I then placed a different pattern from the Comic Book Circles Stencil over each of the shapes and blended over it with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink. I adhered my koala to the circle piece, and trimmed them so their body curved around the bottom edge. I also used a die cut red circle to frame my slightly smaller circle, and adhered it directly behind the circle.
I adhered the hearts first, then the circle with my koala with foam tape. I also stamped the sentiments "I love" and "you-calpytus" into white strips, distressed the edges with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink, framed them with red cardstock, and adhered them to my card with foam tape.
I finished off my card by adding some jewel and sequin embellishments, and adhering my card to an A2-sized card base!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Sassy & Crafty blog today! I can't wait to see what you create using the new Koala-ty Time set!
