Color Me Monday #8

Posted by Amy Hurley-Purdie on

This week I thought I would try something a little different! Why not try a monochromatic scheme! What is monochromatic you ask? It is essentially a color scheme in which any single hue forms the base of the scheme, with all other colors being derived from that hue. So, for example, this week's colors are all pink! Just various tones of pink. Dark, light, medium, and so on. A monochromatic color palette can sound quite dull because it's all one type of color, but actually it can be quite bold! Just look at how striking these photo's are.

This week's palette I chose PINK!

I used our Jungle Leaves Stencil to create my paper, and I used this cutie from Girl Power stamp set and her friend's hippo & toucan from the Jungle Fever Stamp Set to create my card.

I colored my little girl's hair and skin with Copics, and paper pieced the rest of her as well as the animals. I stamped them on to different pink patterned papers and cut them out.
Skin: E13, E33, E35, E37
Eyes: E33, E37
Hair: RV34, RV11, RV06

This week's sketch is simple but really gives you lots of room to stamp and create a scene.

I added a bit of pink sparkle of course with glitter paper and rhinestones to complete my pink fantasy!

This week why not try to complete a card using just one color! I bet you will be surprised at how cute it can really look.

Don't forget to join us on Wednesday for Beth's FB LIVE where she uses the sketch and the color palette to create her own card!

Have a Sassy & Crafty Day!
