Color Me Monday #29

Hey Sassy fans! This week I have a fun new Color Me Monday challenge for you. I have been obsessed with nature inspired palettes and this week I chose our new stamp set Koala-ty time. I hope you're inspired and challenged to try it!
I also went with a fairly basic sketch and used our Topography stencil to create a fun neutral background for our koalas.
I wanted to make a sweet card and I used the koala with his little heart and mirror imaged stamped him by using a silicone mat and my misti. It wasn't as dark of an impression as I would have liked, so I used an artist pen to thicken and darken the lines. Thankfully it was copic friendly and I didn't have a problem with bleeding.
I wanted to stay true to the palette and so I looked up brown koalas and sure enough I found that not only do they exist but they were perfect for my palette. I went ahead and colored both little guys with a mixture of brown colors. I always color match the main colors from my palette but then I use my Sandy Allnock hex chart to find the blend that I think would work best. For these guys I finished them up by coloring over the whole koala with Y28. I felt like it toned them down and made them a little more realistic.
Here's the final project!
Here's hoping you have Sassy and Crafty week!
Love, Beth
